The Publication Readiness Programme: From Research Idea to Scopus Publication is jointly organised by IME Academy in collaboration with Jeppiaar University, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to equip researchers, academicians, and aspiring authors with the knowledge and practical skills required for successful publication in Scopus-indexed journals.

This intensive one-day programme provides a step-by-step understanding of the complete research publication journey—from developing a research idea and applying appropriate research methodology to academic writing, manuscript preparation, journal selection, publication ethics, and manuscript submission.

Participants will gain practical insights into identifying suitable Scopus-indexed journals, structuring high-quality manuscripts, complying with ethical publishing standards, avoiding common publication mistakes, and improving the visibility and impact of their research. The programme also includes expert guidance, practical examples, and interactive discussions to help participants confidently prepare publication-ready manuscripts.

Entry requirements

Participants should have an interest in research, academic writing, or scholarly publication. Basic knowledge of research methodology is beneficial but not mandatory. The programme is suitable for beginners as well as researchers who are currently preparing or planning to submit manuscripts to Scopus-indexed journals.

Research Idea Development & Research Methodology

This module introduces participants to the process of identifying, refining, and structuring a research idea into a clear academic direction using appropriate research methodology.

Participants will learn how to move from a broad research interest to a focused research idea. The module will cover problem identification, research objectives, research questions, methodology selection, and the importance of building a strong foundation before writing a manuscript.

Academic Writing & Manuscript Preparation

30 min 25% of course

This module focuses on academic writing structure, manuscript organization, and preparation of research papers according to journal standards.

Participants will understand how to structure a research manuscript, including title, abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references. The module will also highlight common writing mistakes and ways to improve clarity, flow, and academic presentation.

Scopus Journal Identification & Selection

30 min 25% of course

This module guides participants on how to identify suitable Scopus-indexed journals and avoid unsuitable or misleading publication platforms.

Participants will learn how to search, verify, and shortlist Scopus-indexed journals based on subject area, scope, indexing status, publication timeline, quality indicators, and journal guidelines. The module will also explain the importance of selecting the right journal for improving publication chances.

Publication Ethics & Submission Strategies

30 min 25% of course

This module covers ethical publication practices, plagiarism awareness, authorship ethics, and practical strategies for manuscript submission.

Participants will understand key aspects of publication ethics, including plagiarism, duplicate submission, authorship responsibility, citation ethics, and ethical journal practices. The module will also cover submission planning, journal guidelines, cover letters, reviewer comments, and strategies to handle revision or rejection.

Dr. Sucheta Agarwal is a distinguished academician and researcher with a Ph.D. from IIT Roorkee and currently serving as Associate Professor at GLA University, Mathura. With a strong research footprint (2500+ citations, h-index 22), she specializes in entrepreneurship, sustainability, HR analytics, and research methodology. She serves as Associate Editor for Wiley (Q1 journal) and Springer journals, and has contributed extensively to ABDC A/B/C category and Scopus-indexed journals. She has successfully supervised Ph.D. scholars, secured ICSSR-funded projects, and led national and international workshops, conferences, and FDPs. Her work integrates sustainability, AI in research, and entrepreneurial ecosystems, positioning her as a global research leader.
